Staff:.Melanie Massey, PT
Name: Melanie Massey, PT
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, 1993
University: Louisiana State University Medical Center, Shreveport
Family: Melanie is a native of West Monroe, Louisiana. She and her husband Todd live in West Monroe along with their 3 dogs Coach, Earl and Puppy. When Melanie's away from her clinic, she spends time in her cottage beading and scrapbooking. If you can't find her there, you are sure to find her with her nephews Hunter and Hayden. Melanie recently lost her precious nephew Jake (4 years old and brother to Hunter and Hayden). If you want to meet Melanie on a more personal level and can't take a walk through her clinic, you can see just how special this family is and the work God is doing in their lives by visiting Jake's website at www.caringbridge.org/la/jakeowen. Be ready to be blessed!
MMPT: Melanie is not only the owner, but also a practicing therapist. This makes for a dynamic duo as it allows her to be hands on and side-by-side her team to have the ultimate opportunity for growth and vision. Melanie "Mel" has always been a hands-on, "down in the trenches" leader. Her passion for treating is evident as she has personally taken a staff member with her on a 3 week trip to Spain to treat a child in her home and school in Spain after she had spent and extended period in treatment at MMPT. Melanie has also been extremely active in the community through serving on the board of the West Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Dixie Diehards, Families Helping Families and clinical education to Bossier Parish Community College - Physical Therapy Assistance Program. In the past, Melanie has served on the Board of the LPTA (Louisiana Physical Therapy Association) and has served as the District Chairman.
