The clinic in Ruston was a natural progression for Melanie Massey Physical Therapy, Inc. (MMPT). Ruston, being only 30 minutes down the road, was a natural feeder city for our West Monroe clinic. There were some extremely dedicated families who had been faithfully making this trip for years. Because of this, Melanie decided to reach out to a new community to become the first exclusively pediatric clinic in the Ruston area. This clinic now employs 5 therapists and 2 support staff. The clinic contains custom built climbing equipment, including monkey bars, a slide and a set of stairs that were strategically included in the Ruston office’s makeover. The therapists here also use a huge “crash pad” and a foam pit in treatment sessions.
Being an avid gardener, Melanie has also designed a border garden and often lets the kids “work” in the garden as they incorporate goals of balance, squatting and tactile/vestibular defensiveness during the activity.
